Stories to tell

The story to tell in your posts

Warm, short, and true to the book. Use it as a caption, the intro to a blog post, or the script for a 30-second video.

A kid who is allowed to ask becomes the one who keeps everyone close.

When Will starts noticing small changes at home, he does what kids do. He asks. The grown-ups around him are not sure how to answer, and that is the honest part of the story. So he keeps watching, keeps asking, and keeps showing up. The Bayou Bounce follows him through a Louisiana summer of zydeco on the porch, garden rows, and questions that do not have tidy answers. What he finds is that a family can hold hard things together, and that the kid who is allowed to ask becomes the one who keeps everyone close. That is the whole point of the book. Give a family a gentle way in, and the conversation stops being the thing everyone avoids.

Partnership & institutional

Brain health literacy starts with a story people can hold in their hands. The Bayou Bounce is written for children ages 6–12 and the adults who read with them, giving families, classrooms, and care teams a gentle way into a conversation that is usually hard to start. It sits alongside Neuro Seeds, our digital learning platform: 2026 Global Sustainability Award for Good Health and Wellbeing, and selected for the Book Nook and poster presentation at the World Parkinson Congress 2026. If your organization is building brain health literacy programming, I would welcome a conversation.
